The Rest of the Story...
A seasoned executive, Van Pelt has helped the landscape of how care is delivered on a broader scale through technology, governance, and effective communication. One of his super powers is being able to convene diverse groups of stakeholders to build consensus around a common goal. Andy is truly a jack of all trades who can jump in feet first with any new challenge.
With nearly 20 years of experience in the health care industry, ranging from policy and advocacy to strategy and everything in between, Van Pelt has demonstrated strong leadership, particularly during times of crisis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he helped create processes to implement statewide data tracking systems and coordinated with the Oregon National Guard to provide essential COVID-19 support throughout the state. In the face of extreme hospital bed shortages and the urgent need for real-time information on critical resources, Van Pelt's strategic approach proved invaluable.
In his most recent role as CEO of Apprise Health Insights, a for-profit data and analytics subsidiary, Van Pelt led the company through a period of remarkable growth. Under his leadership, Apprise expanded its services from Oregon's 61 community hospitals to more than 500 hospitals across several states, including Hawaii, California, Delaware, Maryland, Colorado, and Maine. His strategy focuses on developing an exceptional team that leverages capacity data to enhance patient care while ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
Van Pelt's expertise in data-driven decision making has positioned him as a thought leader in business throughout Oregon and beyond. His work continues to shape how organizations utilize data to improve operational efficiency and patient. In 2024, he was recognized as one of the Portland Business Journal's Health Care Influencers.
When taking some downtime, Van Pelt can be found exploring the impressive landscapes of the Pacific Northwest his wife, four teenage children, and two dogs.
